Kashya Jones
Volunteer
Kashya (Shy) Jones, A mother of 4 was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. In her younger years Shy maintained a flare for the arts while performing in various plays, including a tour at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the DuPont Theater and other local performing arts centers.
Through high school motherhood Shy always challenged herself to overcome obstacles and serve as a leader. Shy served as a peer mentor, peer counselor and class treasurer. She also returned to her love of basketball from elementary and middle school by joining her high school basketball team. Staying determined Shy went on to work for one of the top salons in the Wilmington area. Prior to graduating from Delcastle High School she obtained her cosmetology license.
Shy has recently completed real estate school and will pursue her Delaware real estate license. She obtained her ministry ordination specifically for business purposes of offering legal marriage services.
Shy’s motto is to keep God then family first and to live each day as a successful venture while turning each negative into a positive.
Makeba Griffin

Meet Makeba Griffin, a native of Delaware, whose passion for styling hair has been a lifelong journey. From the early days of practicing on dolls, she dreamed of owning her own salon.
As a teenager, Makeba refined her skills by styling family and friends in her mother’s kitchen. Her dedication led her to apply to the Howard High School of Technology, where she pursued a career in Cosmetology.
During her education, Makeba collaborated with renowned salons in Wilmington, gaining valuable experience. After successfully completing the Delaware board exams, she secured her professional license in Cosmetology. Eager to fulfill her dream of owning a salon, Makeba diligently built a strong and consistent clientele over the years.
With over a decade of hard work, perseverance, and technical expertise, Makeba Griffin achieved a significant milestone in March 2013 – becoming the CEO of Dynasty Styling Studios. Her commitment to excellence extends beyond the salon chair; Makeba continually attends seminars on business, marketing, and networking to enhance her skills.
For more than 10 years, Makeba has focused on establishing long-lasting relationships and loyalty among her clients. As the CEO of Dynasty Styling Studios, she aspires to not only lead a successful business but also influence her industry as a Beauty Advisor, transforming lives one head at a time.
